Tipi Audio Guide - Encounter with Bears

A drawing shows four black bear-like animals with red markings, one of which is biting a human figure. The animals and human appear on a beige background, likely part of an ancient or indigenous artwork.

On the tipi, will see a series of black animals. These are bears and this story is about when Big Eyes fought grizzly bears. Bears are sacred to my people, which tell us why this story is depicted here. Big Eyes came up on a mother grizzly, her cubs, and another bear. The mother grizzly charged Big Eyes and she tore him with her teeth and claws. Big Eyes stabbed her with his knife. The red on all the figures represents blood wounds.
