Tipi Audio Guide - Horse Raiding

A drawing on textured paper shows a teepee, a person riding a black horse, and leading a red horse by a rope. The figures are simple and outlined in black with colored details.

Below the bears you will see a painted tipi with a colored band of triangles along the bottom. This represents when Big Eyes took a horse that was staked to the ground close to a Crow tipi. Horses were a form of wealth on the Plains, and it was a feat of honor to be able to capture a horse that belonged to an enemy. People would stake their best horse close to their tipi because it was harder to be taken.
