About the Event

Join us for a private tour of the new exhibition Monumental-Selected Works by Andy Scott. Autry members and invited guests can meet the artist, enjoy the exhibition, and attend a reception with light refreshments.

Monumental presents works by internationally renowned Scottish sculptor Andy Scott (now based in Los Angeles), whose large-scale public works in galvanized steel and bronze are celebrated for their commanding presence, refined draftsmanship, and advanced fabrication. Central to Scott’s practice is a commitment to site-specific, commission-based sculpture: each work is conceived as a narrative monument shaped in dialogue with its location, its patrons, and the communities who will live with it.

The exhibition offers an inside view of how these sculptures come to life through original sketches, working drawings, scale maquettes, and behind-the-scenes construction imagery and film. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Scott, discuss the conceptual and technical journey from idea to landmark, and explore how a commission is developed from first conversation to final installation.
