About the Event

Chris Clarke, California Desert Program Manager at National Parks Conservation Association, Matthew Leivas Sr. (Chemehuevi), founding board member of the Native American Land Conservancy and co-founder of Salt Song Trail Project, and noted desert artist Kim Stringfellow reflect on how we currently perceive and interact with the desert landscape, on the occasion of a half-century of Edward Abbey’s Desert Solitaire. The discussion is moderated by Josh Garrett-Davis, Gamble Assistant Curator of Western History, Pop Culture, & Firearms.
