About the Event

Honoring the cowboy legacy of Johnny Zamrzla, join the Autry for NATIONAL DAY OF THE COWBOY & COWGIRL! Enjoy extended museum hours until 7:30pm and family-friendly activities for cowfolk of all ages. 

Enjoy trick ropers on the plaza, cowboy poetry, live music on the plaza, country line dancing lessons, film screenings and docent led tours. Autry members enjoy early access, free admission and a Member Cookout.

11:30am -1:30pm MEMBER PICNIC (Garden and East Lawn) 

RSVP required in advance – space is limited. Members can bring their own picnic or lunch options available for purchase. Complimentary water/lemonade and ice cream sandwiches with special activities for children and live music by the Western Music Association. 

6pm – 10pm 

Autry members enjoy Member Movie Night on the Lawn featuring Toy Story as part of Street Food Cinemas outdoor film series. Special seating in the reserved section (bring your own blankets/chairs). Pre-show activities with food trucks, vendors, trivia. 7pm Live western music performance by the Mustangs of the West on the lawn.
