Join us for a night of powerful Indigenous cinema showcasing three award-worthy short films! 

You’re invited to a special screening of three Academy-qualified Indigenous short films at the Autry Museum featuring filmmakers Joey Clift (Cowlitz Tribe), Eric Michael Hernandez (Lumbee Tribe), and Loren Waters (Cherokee Nation/Kiowa Tribe). The evening will include a moderated discussion led by film producer Bird Runningwater (Cheyenne/Mescalero Apache). 

FYC Best Animated Short Film: Pow! follows a young Native American kid scrambling to charge his video game console at a Coastal Salish intertribal powwow. Directed by Joey Clift.

FYC Best Live Action Short Film: Inspired by true events, Courage is the story of a young Native American boy struggling with self-confidence and societal expectations, until his uncle introduces him to the art of Hoop Dance. Through this tradition, he finds strength, resilience, and the courage to embrace his heritage. Directed by Eric Michael Hernandez.

FYC Best Documentary Short Film: Tiger highlights the award-winning, internationally acclaimed Indigenous artist and elder, Dana Tiger, her family, and the resurgence of the iconic Tiger t-shirt company. Directed by Loren Waters.

Food is included in the ticket price, with a cash bar available throughout the evening.
