About the Event

Four years before he terrified audiences with Jaws, Steven Spielberg made his feature debut with this road rage thriller. A mild-mannered traveling salesman (Dennis Weaver) driving on an empty stretch of highway encounters a deranged truck driver, leading to a deadly game of cat and mouse that only one of them will survive. Written by Richard Matheson (I Am Legend), Duel is considered one of the most intense TV movies ever made. Introduced by Brad Sykes, filmmaker and author of Terror in the Desert: Dark Cinema of the American Southwest.

Directed by Steven Spielberg | Starring Dennis Weaver, Jacqueline Scott, and Eddie Firestone | Screened in 35mm

This film is part of the Weird West Series, an occasional series that explores wild and weird genre hybrids, from horror to science fiction Westerns.
