Noted art historian Jean Stern will discuss the legacy of California art and the great works that have shaped the state’s rich visual history. His fully illustrated talk will explore works by California artists, including some historical members of the California Art Club. Gold Medal Exhibition artists will be in the galleries for a special Meet & Greet after Jean Stern's lecture to celebrate the opening day.

This expansive showcase of more than 150 paintings and sculptures will be on view at the Autry Museum through April 10. Artworks were selected from hundreds of entries submitted by current California Art Club members and reviewed by a panel of art experts and leading artists. The final collection spotlights today’s most exemplary works by both renowned and emerging artists.

Founded in 1909, the California Art Club is one of the oldest, most respected art organizations in the country. For more than a century, it has been dedicated to preserving and promoting classical fine art traditions in the American West, serving as a vital platform for representational painting and sculpture.
