Two people are sitting on the floor cross-legged, surrounded by various instruments and plants. A sign reads "Autry Museum After Hours." They appear relaxed, with one person wearing a white sweater and green pants, and the other in a purple hoodie and shorts.

About the Event:

Modular Sound Baths are meant to shake up long-held physical and mental tensions and focus on a fundamental human ability for insight and intuition. The steadiness of crystal singing bowls pairs beautifully with the varied arrangements available with Modular Synthesis, sometimes melding the frequencies seamlessly, and sometimes adding some texture to the relaxing hum of the bowls.

This immersive drop-in sound experience was inspired by our exhibition Out of Site: Survey Science and the Hidden West, which considers the Western landscape as a place where the transformation of physical space involves both visualization and manipulation, where the connections between what can be physically seen and how it is visually represented are not always clear.

Out of Site: Survey Science and the Hidden West is among more than 70 exhibitions and programs presented as part of PST ART. Returning in September 2024 with its latest edition, PST ART: Art & Science Collide, this landmark regional event explores the intersections of art and science, both past and present. PST ART is presented by Getty. For more information about PST ART: Art & Science Collide, please visit: pst.art
