Art Analysis of Masters of the American West

Masters of the American West is an annual Autry exhibition to see and purchase new works of the top contemporary painters and sculptors working in the Western genre. The art analysis lesson activity provides students the opportunity to explore and analyze art from 64 of this year's western artists who submitted their art to the Exhibition. Students will use visual thinking strategies asking and answering questions and analyze artist statements and labels. Teachers can refer to the Teaching Tips for suggestions on analyzing types of artwork, different mediums and subjects.
