Located in the Parks Research Center, the Library and Archives (LAA) is open by appointment only, Monday–Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are closed on weekends, for major holidays, and during the last week of December.
Appointments in the LAA may be provided to anyone whose research needs require the use of Autry collections, identifies those collection materials using the library catalog or Collections Online, and submits a Researcher Application.
We recommend research appointments be made 4-6 weeks in advance for library and archives materials, 12 weeks in advance for access to other materials.
Please fill out the Researcher Application Form / Request for Low Resolution Research Copies to request a research appointment or to request copies. Low resolution copies can be provided for research / reference use only. These copies are made by, and at the discretion of, the LAA staff.
Please note: Due to ongoing, intensive collections care activities, there is currently a moratorium on loans of and access to archaeological collections and field notes. Those collections undergoing curatorial remediation, tribal review, and rehabilitation will be inaccessible to researchers until the processes are complete.
