Kids and Families

The Autry is a wonderful place for children and adults to have fun while learning together. We provide a number of hands-on learning opportunities that not only teach important lessons about the American West but can also help spur conversation between grownups and children.
Weather permitting, our Gold Rush program is open every weekend, allowing children and grownups alike to learn what it was like to pan for gold. This year, during the run of our Native American basketry show, children and families can weave their own row in our community basket. The first Sunday of every month features programs and activities on Native American culture, and the third Sunday of every month is Family Sunday with StoryTime, crafts, and special family-friendly tours.
Many of our larger festival programs, such as the "American Indian Arts Marketplace" and "Viva El Cinco!" include a variety of children’s activities, and every summer we offer a five-week day camp that is fun, exciting, and educational.
