Kids and Families

The Autry is a wonderful place for children and adults to learn together.  We provide a number of hands-on learning opportunities which not only teach important lessons about the American West, but can help spur conversation between grown ups and children.

Our Gold Rush program is open every weekend, weather permitting, allowing children and grown ups alike to learn what it was like to pan for gold.  This year, during the run of our Native American Basketry show, children and families can weaver their own row in our community basket.  Also, we offer monthly, craft-based programs, as well as two tours a month designed specifically for families and children.

Many of our larger, festival programs, such as the Intertribal Arts Marketplace and Vivia El Cinco! include a variety of children’s activities, and every summer we offer a five week day camp that is fun, exciting, and educational.
