The Autry Museum of the American West Love Letters to L.A. Autry Block Party

People enjoy a fair with a Ferris wheel, vintage cars, vendor tents, and a clock tower in the background under a sunny, blue sky. Families and children walk around the lively outdoor event.

(September 7, 2026—Los Angeles, CA) The Autry Museum of the American West invites everyone to its Annual Block Party on Saturday, September 26. This special day brings together the community to celebrate everything that makes L.A. so unique! Enjoy a lively carnival atmosphere with music, games, food, and more. Families may explore the museum while participating in hands-on activities, including face painting, plein air painting, and even meeting a favorite PBS character.

The Annual Autry Block Party will feature live music stages, cultural performances and dancing, food trucks, and beverage stations. Watch plein air painting by California Art Club members as they capture the scenes of the Block Party on canvas. Get a horse photo op after a grooming workshop with Urban Saddles. Enjoy a car show featuring classic cars and hot rods. The Autry Block Party isn’t a Block Party without carnival games, bounce houses, a mechanical bull, and a Ferris Wheel.

The Block Party will also feature a Dino Land play area. Dino Land is a dinosaur-filled landscape featuring life-size dinosaurs, containment fencing, broken dinosaur eggs, weathered research crates, themed photo backdrops, and lush prehistoric foliage. The adventure continues into an interactive Dinosaur Land, where families can enjoy Jurassic-themed inflatables, interactive games and challenges, dinosaur crafts, prehistoric races, and a special PBS character meet-and greet with Nature Cat.

The Block Party will also be the place to view a screening of the documentary Maara'yam: The Yuhaaviatam Story in the Autry’s newly renovated theater. Come and celebrate the city of Los Angeles and everything that makes it unique!
