LA Skins Fest
LA SKINS FEST is a film festival presenting the best in Native American cinema from across the United States and Canada. This is the sixth year LA Skins has been hosted by the Autry to mark American Indian Heritage Month.
In recent years, LA Skins Fest has expanded significantly, developing filmmaking workshops and media tours for Native American young people. These programs encourage them to not only pursue their talents, but to explore successful careers in film, television, video and other media. Each year, LA Skins Fest also offers a scholarship for one gifted student to enhance his or her knowledge and experience in film and video.
LA Skins Fest is funded by the Barcid Foundation. Established in 1996, the Barcid Foundation is committed to fostering the growth of Native American film, filmmakers, and audiences in Los Angeles. This year's LA Skins Fest at the Autry runs Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18, 2012.
