Join us for a special advance screening of Running Wild, a feature documentary that explores the journey of Dayton O. Hyde, an award-winning author and cowboy conservationist who has dedicated his life to protecting wild horses and the land of the American West. The film features the breathtaking landscape of Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in South Dakota and Yamsi Ranch in Oregon.
Opening October 4 in select theatres nationwide, Running Wild received the Sarasota Film Festival Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature and the Black Hills Film Festival Award for Best Documentary.
After the screening, David Burton, Senior Director of the Autry Institute, will lead a lively conversation with the film’s inspirational subject, Dayton O. Hyde; Emmy Award-winning producer/director Suzanne Mitchell; and singer-songwriter Steve Poltz. Named “San Diego’s Most Influential Artist of the Decade” in 2000, Poltz co-wrote Jewel’s hit song “You Were Meant for Me” and has toured internationally. Poltz will bring his guitar to play a song or two.
