The Autry strives to provide teachers with valuable classroom resources, online access to images and lesson plans, pre- and post-visit field trip activities, and more. As we develop future programs and exhibitions, we will continue to offer resources that assist teachers within the classroom as well as improve access to the museum and our website.
All of our tours and programs meet California Academic Content Standards. See a complete listing of programs and corresponding California Academic Content Standards.

Meeting the Needs of Special Education Learners and Students on the Autism Spectrum
If you teach a class of students (or even have just one student) with learning disabilities or autism, please let us know so that we may connect you with one of our special education docents. As former special education teachers, these museum educators are well qualified to assess which special accommodations, if any, are required, and make the necessary arrangements with our lead docent for the day. We want every student’s visit to the Autry to be fulfilling and enjoyable, so please do not hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns.
"All Aboard!" Free Bus Program for Title I Schools
“All Aboard!” provides up to $350 to pay for a school bus to bring your students to the museum. The Autry offers each student free family access to the museum for one year so that students and families can continue to explore, learn, and grow together.
We encourage all students to wear name tags on the day of their visit. Download a name tag template — or create your own in the classroom.
