About the Event

This ongoing series explores the wide range of movies that can be considered a Western. Each screening begins with a brief introduction from the guest curator. Los Angeles Times film critic Kenneth Turan will introduce The Searchers.

Throughout 2017, audience members voted for their favorite Western. Often acclaimed as one of the greatest ever made, John Ford’s The Searchers tells the monumental tale of an uncle’s search for a girl abducted in 1860s Texas.
