Medicine of the Hailstone

Artwork Image:

In the late 1860s there was a Cheyenne medicine man by the name of Ice. He had shared a vision/dream with another great warrior on a thundering, cold rainy night. The warrior heard this story and wanted to have a warbonnet made such as the warrior in the dream. The trade for the dream bonnet was many war horses. The warrior became famous for his one-horned buffalo warbonnet, which came with many rules; one was to never eat from the white man’s spoon or be near metal. Roman Nose came to be one of the most feared warriors on the Plains.
