“Ecstasy and improvisation are entwined, and have as their ultimate enemies authoritarianism and death.” —Robert Motherwell
This is my journey . . . bold paint, thick color, sensual drips, and heavy, pregnant marks of meaning moving across the canvas. The smell of piñon wood burning . . . the village at dawn as the dancers move into the plaza to the sound of drum beats. I have been seduced by paint: drips, splatters, hard edges, soft edges, warm temperature colors, cool temperature colors, mass. My hope is that as a mature painter engaged in a meaningful lifelong vocation with painting, my work and life have touched people and left a lasting impression on them and their lives.
