L.A.-based ensemble Teatro Jornalero Sin Fronteras (Day Labor Theater Without Borders) presents Historias del Rio, written by Cesar Ortega I. through interviews within various Latino communities in the Los Angeles and Long Beach areas. Directed by Moses Norton, Historias del Rio follows the protagonist Isabella’s journey to the United States from Mexico. The play combines Aztec (Mexica) dance and ritual with magical realism.
Galleries will be closed during the performance. The audience is encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on the lawn during the show. Crossroads West will be open from 5:00–7:00 p.m. for drinks and light refreshments.
