About the Event

Autry Classroom Curators invites students and teachers from across Southern California to the Autry’s inaugural Social Action Symposium to learn about the ways students have used their education to make changes in their communities. As the Brazilian educator Paulo Friere observed, “Education does not transform the world. Education changes people. People change the world.” The Autry’s Social Action Symposium will highlight social action projects from a range of K-12 classrooms and will provide visitors the opportunity to make their own efforts at social action, and become champions of change. Complimentary continental breakfast is included.
