About the Event

Experience the largest convening of traditional California Indian basketweavers in the state! Join the California Indian Basketweavers Association (CIBA) and the Autry for a weekend of exhibits, cultural demonstrations, and family activities. On Saturday, see a showcase of traditional baskets by CIBA members.

Saturday
All Day: Basket showcase
10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.: Basket-weaving demonstrations
10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.: Vendor booths open
10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.: Family activities in the galleries and garden
 
Sunday
10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.: Basket-weaving demonstrations
10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.: Family activities in the galleries and garden
11:00 a.m.: Follow the Smoke, a discussion led by Alice Lincoln Cook (Karuk)
1:00 p.m.: In the Hands of Our Youth, a discussion led by Jennifer Malone (Wukchumni)
2:00 p.m.: Pesticides, What Weavers Should Know, a discussion led by Diania Caudell (Luiseño)

Please note: We will not have any hands-on workshops this weekend but we are offering two full-day workshops in July and August.
