About the Event

US Premiere!

The tale of a father in a south-Texas border town who starts trafficking drugs to pay for his son's cancer treatment was written and directed by a Danish filmmaker. This neo-Western won Best Feature at both Arizona International Film Festival and Pioneertown International Film Festival, demonstrating the impact of the Western genre on global movie-making.

Post-screening Q&A with director Torben Bech and producer Magnus Kristiansen

Directed by Torben Bech | Starring Michael Ray Escamilla, Bre Blair, and Jack Elliot Ybarra

The What is a Western? Film Series explores the wide range of movies that can be considered Westerns, and the ways in which they shape our understanding of the American West. Each screening includes a guest lecturer who will introduce the film and explain its significance in the genre.
