About the Event

Screened in 35mm!

Long considered an overlooked Western of the 1980s, a spirited performance from Willie Nelson raises the bar on the classic tale of a young cowboy on the run from the law who partners with a famous outlaw and learns about life from him.

Screening followed by a conversation with actor Danny De La Paz and Luis Reyes, author of Viva Hollywood: The Legacy of Latin and Hispanic Artists in American Film

Directed by Fred Schepisi | Starring Wilie Nelson, Gary Busey, Isela Vega, Gilbert Roland, and Danny De La Paz

The What is a Western? Film Series explores the wide range of movies that can be considered Westerns, and the ways in which they shape our understanding of the American West. Each screening includes a guest lecturer who will introduce the film and explain its significance in the genre.
