About the Event

The STUDENT VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITION opens on April 20, 2024 with a celebration honoring the participating students and teachers and will be on view until the end of June 2024. 

The program is held at the Autry annually in the spring, exhibiting 100+ student artworks exploring a topic of relevance in the American West. For centuries, the American West has offered opportunities for freedom. Millions of people have looked to the American West as a place where they could secure freedoms not offered elsewhere. Students of the American West will share with us their visions of freedom. How do you define freedom? What does it mean to be free? Can freedom lost be won?
