SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. | Federico Jewelry |  In Front of Museum Store

Federico Jimenez is a world-renowned authority on Mexican silver and Meso-American jewelry. His passion for antiquities was ignited when he and his father discovered a pre-Columbian Mixtec pectoral chest plate buried under their house. Since then, he has been on a quest to uncover more treasures, traveling from village to village. In addition to jewelry, Federico also collects Meso-American Indian costumes, with his collection totaling over 200 jewelry pieces and 190 traditional costumes. He has organized exhibitions and contributed to institutions like the UCLA Museum of Cultural History and the National Folk Art Museum in Santa Fe. Federico's designs are highly sought after by the entertainment crowd, with celebrities like Christie Brinkley, Elle McPherson, and Ali McGraw wearing his jewelry.

10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. | Trunk Show with Laila Asgari |  Museum Store

Laila Asgari, a local artist raised in southern California, took an interest in the Western lifestyle at an early age, learning how to ride at the age of five years.  As a youngster, Laila coupled her interest in art with her love for horses, experimenting with oil, pencil, and charcoal.  As an adult she discovered glass, and using the glass fusing technique she has been able to transfer her passion for the West into functional art, creating pictures with glass. Each glass piece is handmade and kiln-fired creating unique one-of-a-kind pieces. Her collection includes wall hangings, wall tiles, plates, picture frames, and coasters. Many of the pieces are created from personal experiences, which led Laila to name her business “Serendipity Blue”.
