The Last Chinese Chef
February 12:
Nicole Mones ran a textile business in China for eighteen years before she turned to writing about Chinese food. The Last Chinese Chef, which was a Kiriyama Prize finalist, also won a World Gourmand Award as a Chinese cookbook—a first for a novel with no recipes. Her other bestselling novels are published in twenty languages, and she has also written for Gourmet Magazine, the New York Times Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, and the Washington Post.
February 26:
After reading The Last Chinese Chef and hearing from Nicole Mones on February 12, you will understand why the single most common question she is asked is, “Do you know where I can experience the kind of Chinese cuisine described in your book?” Luckily, Los Angeles is one of two American cities in which the answer is “Yes”: at Chang’s Garden, led by esteemed master chef Henry Chang. On Sunday, February 26, we invite you to join Nicole Mones at Chang’s Garden for a fourteen-course meal with a menu inspired from The Last Chinese Chef.
