Sizzling Summer Nights
The Autry National Center presents its 2013 Sizzling Summer Nights series with a lineup of legends of the salsa music scene, plus some new acts, Thursday evenings, July 11–August 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This all-ages outdoor dance party features the best salsa bands in Los Angeles, plus dance lessons that are sure to get some feet moving!
See top Latin bands in a fun, casual, energetic setting on the Autry plaza. Visitors can enjoy hot-off-the-grill food, ice-cold drinks and spirits, access to the museum galleries, a separate children’s dance floor, and more. The taco and drink bar opens at 6:00 p.m., and the museum and the Autry Store both stay open until 8:00 p.m.
The stellar lineup of bands brings high-energy music that is made for dancing. Award-winning salsa instructor Enio Cordoba comes to Sizzling Summer Nights for the first time this year. He will teach guests some basic dance moves to get them out of their seats and on the floor. Bands include such veterans of the L.A. salsa scene as Chino Espinoza y Los Dueños del Son, Orquesta Son Mayor, Conjunto Oye!, Johnny Polanco, and other greats.
