Hawkeye (Day-Lewis), a frontiersman raised by the Mohicans, leads a party that rescues several English colonists, including the beautiful Cora (Stowe). The two fall in love, but a series of violent altercations pulls them apart. Despite countless obstacles, Hawkeye promises the two will be reunited.
