Searching for Tamsen Donner follows Burton’s own 1977 journey in which she retraced the Donner Trail of 1846 with her family. It also includes all of Tamsen Donner’s letters, published for the first time. Burton has won the American Film Institute’s Mary Pickford Prize and was named a Nicholl Screenwriting Fellow by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She has written for the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Huffington Post.
Ms. Burton's appearance is part of the Go West Book Fest.
