    Michael Coleman works in oil, gouache, and bronze. He has exhibited his work at the Kennedy Galleries, the Mongerson-Wunderlich Galleries, and the J. N. Bartfield Galleries, New York; the Gerald Peters Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico; the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cody, Wyoming; the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and the C. M. Russell Museum, Great Falls, Montana. In 1996, the National Deutsches Jagd- und Fischereimuseum in Munich, Germany, featured an exhibition of his work that subsequently traveled to museums in the United States.

    In 1999, he won the Prix de West Purchase Award at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum for his wildlife sculpture September.

    Coleman is an avid outdoorsman, angler, and hunter. His art often interferes with these activities.
