Born on January 16, 1974, Kyle Polzin began developing his artistic skills at a young age with the guidance of his father. Brought up around horses and the Texas coast, Polzin’s appreciation of the beauty and heritage of his Texas surroundings is reflected in his art. He also worked closely with his grandfathers, both of whom were skilled carpenters. Through their teachings, he learned the meaning of craftsmanship and the rewards of creating with your hands.

In 1992 Polzin began his formal training in fine art, with an emphasis in oil painting, at Victoria College. During this time, he participated in instructional sessions under the master painter Dalhart Windberg, who became his longtime mentor. After college Polzin worked as a graphic artist and web designer, painting in his free time. As his popularity and success as a painter grew, he switched to painting full-time in 2000.

Polzin has had numerous sold-out shows, and his work has been featured in Art of the West, Southwest Art, Texas Outdoors Journal, Western Art Collector, and numerous other publications. Ducks Unlimited honored him as a Sponsor Artist for the state of Texas in 2007 and as Texas State Artist for 2010. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife, Leigh, and their two young daughters.

Kyle Polzin is represented by Legacy Gallery, Jackson, Wyoming, and Scottsdale, Arizona.
