Nebrat Family Passport

This hostility and fear of worsening economic conditions contributed to the passage of the Immigration Act of 1924, which drastically decreased immigration to the United States. From 1924 until after World War II, most settlers in the West came from the eastern United States rather than overseas. This marks the beginning of a strong multigenerational western Jewish identity.
