Gifts of Art and Artifacts

The Autry National Center is growing – and your contribution to our collection will help us continue to broaden the range of stories about the American West through exhibitions, publications and other programs. The generosity of our patrons enables us to enrich the visitor experience through inclusion of important artistic and historic materials about the West.
There are a number of ways in which collectors and enthusiasts can give artifacts and works of art:
- As an outright gift
- As an irrevocable promised gift
- As the gift of a percentage of value over a time period designated by the giver
- As a bequest.
We are very grateful to our many friends and donors. Gifts of artworks or objects must be approved by the Accessions Committee and by the Autry’s Board of Trustees. For more information on giving artworks, historic papers or artifacts to the Autry, contact Anna Norville, Director of Major Gifts, at 323.667.2000, ext. 398, or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Please discuss your gift and estate plans with your own legal and financial advisors so your personal and charitable goals are wisely met. The Autry’s staff cannot appraise art or objects. The Autry recommends that you contact an accredited appraiser directly. We are pleased to provide information below to assist you in your search for an expert in a field related to your artwork.
